F55H 52.247-9G13 GUARANTEED MAXIMUM SHIPPING WEIGHTS AND DSCR (MAR 1998)
AND DIMENSIONS
F47F45
(a) Each offer will be evaluated to the destination specified by adding
to the f.o.b. origin price or the f.o.b port of loading price all transportation
costs to said destination. The guaranteed maximum shipping weights and
dimensions of the supplies are required for determination of transportation
costs. The offeror is requested to state as part of his offer the weights and
dimensions. If separate containers are to be banded and/or skidded into a
single shipping unit, details must be described.
(b) If actual shipping weights or dimensions for the supplies exceed the
guaranteed maximum shipping weights or dimensions used for evaluation purposes,
the contract price shall be reduced by an amount equal to the difference between
the transportation costs actually incurred, and the transportation costs used
for evaluation which were computed on the guaranteed shipping weights and
dimensions as reflected in the offer. Contractor agrees to this reduction even
when quantities for delivery are pursuant to a set-aside for small business
negotiated under the terms of the solicitation, and/or exercise of an option for
increased quantities.
(c) Contractor Developed Data Per Shipping Container (See Notes).

(1) If the "Not Available" box is checked in paragraph (d) below, the
offeror shall fill-in his guaranteed maximum shipping weights and dimensions in
this paragraph (c). The offeror's failure to furnish such data will render his
offer nonresponsive, unless the Contracting Officer determines that such weights
and dimensions would clearly not affect the standing of the offers.
(2) If Government estimates are cited in paragraph (d) below, the
offeror may fill-in his guaranteed maximum shipping weights and dimensions in
this paragraph (c).
(3) If the offeror fails to state his guaranteed maximum shipping
weights and dimensions for the supplies as requested, the Government will use
the estimated weights and dimensions cited in paragraph (d) below for
evaluation, and the contractor agrees this will be the basis for any reduction
in contract prices as provided in this clause.
(d) Government Developed Data Per Shipping Container (See Notes).

[ ] GOVERNMENT ESTIMATES ARE NOT AVAILABLE.
NOTE 1: Shipping weights and dimensions/packing, etc., shown above are for
transportation evaluation purposes and should not be construed as taking
precedence over applicable specifications for manufacturing, assembly or
packing.
NOTE 2: General. If more than one shipping container is to be used for a
single bid unit, a separate schedule may be inserted showing the information
required by this table for each shipping container to be used for each such bid
unit.
NOTE 3: Shipping Container. May be palletized load, a bundle of pieces or
several boxes strapped together (unitized), a carton, drum, or skidded box
(containerized). When tariffs provide for "Free Transportation of Pallets,
Platforms or Skids," and applicable to this solicitation, the Government will
consider such provisions in the evaluation of offers, the offeror must state the
"Net Weight," "Pallet Wt/Skid Wt, etc." and "Gross Wt" of the shipping container
to be adequately considered for determination of the appropriate transportation
cost under tariff provisions.
NOTE 4: Bid unit is the unit quantity specified in the schedule for each bid
item, i.e., HD, EA, DZ, CN.
NOTE 5: The shipping characteristics should include the packing of the
commodity (unassembled, knocked down, set up, nested, powdered, liquid,
compressed, etc, and applicable interior packaging as described in the governing
freight classification, i.e., glass in cartons, bulk in drums, cartons on
pallets, carboys ICC No. 1-D, loose, etc.) and other conditions affecting
transportation costs.
NOTE 6: If different levels of pack are not identified by item number(s), such
levels should be shown separately in the bid item number column of the table.
