Dying weeds suck oxygen out of the water instead of putting it into the water. I know, too much work, right. Catching fish or not it's hard not to enjoy a day on the water with this weather. I use the crawler because everything will bite them, they are easier to keep in the cooler in the boat, cost is lower, more versatile because you can vary the lengths so easy, and more versatile because you can throw, pitch, jig and drag them in more ways than a minnow. Even if you are throwing 5" plastics don't let your jig or hook over take the motion of the bait. The color doesn't seem to be too important but that jig is a killer.
