Andalusia, Jan. 12.Boney Adkison, 45, farmer, residing near Adellum school, three and a half miles from Andalusia, was instantly killed at noon today when a single coal car bore down upon him in the yards of the Central of Georgia Railroad at a siding just opposite the shops of the Andalusia Manufacturing Company. During the awful era of reconstruction he was a champion of Jeffersonian Democracy of the purest type and remained the same until his death, and this fact was well attested at his funeral, for there were present our clerk of Circuit Court, tax collector, sheriff and many other leading men of this county. It is stated that he was endeavoring to put a belt on a rapidly revolving pulley, when in some way his clothing got caught between the belt and the wheel and he was almost instantly crushed into eternity before the machinery could be brought to a standstill.
